Hi all,
Im quite new to the silent hunter V and I'm a big fan of simulators. I'm sure there is more people like me that likes simulators with most realism you can have so I'm wondering if some "realism fan" can post a list of compatible mods/tweaks/settings that makes this fantastic game more "real". Thank you in advance and sorry for my poor english. |

I like my sub simulator as real as I can get. That is until I can't operate it well anymore. You can take SH5 all the way to real navigation if you like. And it can get REALLY tough to be a skipper on the high seas then. You gotta know what you're doing at that point. I've done a bit of testing with this mod setup and it seems to be working very well so far. Remove Electric Torpedo Wakes sobers see thru wake fix Real Environment - Revision_3 FX_Update_0_0_19_ByTheDarkWraith Dynamic Environment SH5 Basemod (realistic version) V2.1 Dynamic Environment SH5 Sounds V2.1 NewUIs_TDC_6_9_0_No_Snorkel_Exhaust_Smoke NewUIs_TDC_6_9_0_ByTheDarkWraith Depth_Keeping_Problem_HB_2_0_0_TheDarkWraith Manos Scopes-patch for 16x9 NDB,NDH OM#1 - No Dialog Indicator You can still find the occasional glitch from the stock parts of the game in it though. The sub performs well with that setup. There is not a whole lot of realism in the missions that are given in the stock campaign though. Sub weren't ordered to shoot at capitol ships and stuff. It was considered too dangerous. But it sure is fun going after them though. To me, it just the same old same old going after the frieghters. So slipping in and sinking that capitol ship with 10 escorts is a bit more on edge. Anyway, there ya go. |

Welcome to the forums. SH5, like the other SH titles can be as real as you want to make between difficulty settings and mods. Here are just a few of the "must have" mods that I think most people would agree upon.
TDW multiple UI & TDC mod - gives you functioning realistic TDC dials and more options for nav map, scope views, etc. than you can shake a stick at. If I told you everything that was in this mod the post would be 10 pages. IRAI - Fixes the enemy AI. Escorts now pose a serious threat. Nuf' said. TDW FX Update mod - adds a lot of good eye candy and other things like parachuting fighter pilots. Stormy's DBSM sound mod - Fixes sound problems and adds a whole heap of immersive sounds. These are the basic ones that I think are most important. The first two are arguably a necessity. Have fun.
