Default Help on link issue please ...

This is weird. On a laptop I have, I cannot access:

http://www.uboat.net/today.html

"(Forbidden) you do not have permission on this server ..."

Any searches to this site on Google comes up with "blocked".

Duh! I have looked at all the options on the puter and Google and cannot find what is causing this?

Is anyone else having this issue????

I see the entire site fine on my desktop PC per my sig line ...

Also: 403 Forbidden

seems like a Microsoft issue?

Is a puzzlement!
Try turning off your firewall, anti-virus, and any ad blocker.

I don't know either. I have XP and IE8, and had no problem getting there at all.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh .

It works fine on my PC. Laptop is wireless to my Netgear gizmo. PC is wired to Netgear gizmo.

I have AVG, Firefox, IE 8, Google, Skype, am now running Registry clean, defrag, and udder stuff.

Am looking at all the pull down on XP Explorer, Outlook Express yadda yada.

I rather be at crush depth with a BLT and cup of tomato soup!!!

Works OK on my Mozzilla (laptop) when I type in address AND when I use Google off Mozilla on my laptop ... so! any idearz what may be borked on MS IE8 address line and on Google search using MS IE8?

Laptop just scanned with AVG and found no social diseases...

Their website DNS server was probably messed up. Somehow you got pointed to the website management port ( often port 8080). For which you obviously have no security clearance. The url works on my end. Does it still block on yours?

If so, try to clear your DNS cache:

open (DOS) command prompt window: Start/Run/ type: cmd , then OK button

or find the command prompt window shortcut in accessories of start menu/programs.

Then type in there: ipconfig /flushdns

(enter key)

Close the command window again.

Sorry, all your other mentioned attempts are in vain. Those do not help.

This removes all url-to-ip-adress information on your system. Don't worry, this will be automatically refreshed whenever you use your browser. Hopefully the propper u-boat.net ip adress and port number this time.

[EDIT] This needs administrative rights in Vista and Win7. Make sure you Run As administrator and acknowledge UAC or BE an administrator.

Hi Pices,

Flushed went fine but still no joy ... funny how I can get on there with Mozilla on my laptop, and IE8 on my PC.

But cannot get on there on my laptop using Google or inserting address in IE8.

It seems there is a Google / MS issue on my laptop ??????

BTW I was on a conference call with Breda Netherlands today!

There is this thing called Google Chrome - and that worked. There must be a conflict with regular Google? but the weird part is why only this www.uboat.net website?

Perhaps I should remove Chrome as it looks like junk I do not need. Dumped - but still no solution ..

Ok - Based on the above stuff, who here suggests I unload IE8 and Google and then reload?

Or, should I just slam a door on my finger to ease the pain I feel!

That new avatar gives me even more pain now LOL ...
