Watch crew not changing into wet gear

Evening all,

Just breaking out of the Skageraak as I speak and it looks like the weather is turning, with distant thunder heard in the distance, wind is choppy at 9 mps.I ordered a quick periscope dive then surface to get the men into their 'wet gear' (I know its only cosmetic but I enjoy rough weather and getting the men into their seal skins) only to find they are still dressed as if ready to get the deck chairs out
Any ideas on this 'glitch'?.
NOTE - I have a mod called 'grey leather crew' by Fubar installed as part of my mods collection, but I cant imagine this being a problem as it only gives the watch officer a grey leather jacket from what I can tell.

Thanks in advance.

Default Are precipitations the key trigger for wet gear?

Is there a particular trigger for the wet gear in the game,I mean,no matter how high the waves are does there have to be precipitations of SOME kind no matter how light? In my case the exact weather conditions are:

clouds overcast, precipitations none, vis reduced, wind 9 mps.

Thanks

A quick question for you Jim,

Out of interest regarding this issue,I do have your 'guns in all weather + ammo' mods installed, could this be causing a conflict?.The concept of the mod is fantastic but could it cause problems with the crew changing into wet gear?,rendering the transition 'stuck' in effect?.I hope not because being able to attack in rough seas really appeals to me even if it is not historically very accurate...sort of.

Cheers mate.

The change into wet weather gear is triggered when the weather crosses the line into "storm conditions," determined IIRC by wind speed and the level of precipitation (if any). The same thing also determines whether or not you can use your guns.

The All Weather Guns mod changes the definition of "storm conditions" so that no matter how bad the weather gets, it never triggers the game to disallow the use of guns. However since the same trigger is used to put your watch crew in their wet weather gear, that never happens either.

So, there's no "conflict" as such, it's just that both things are tied to the same trigger: how the game defines what constitutes "storm conditions." So it's a trade-off, either you get guns in all weather, or you get a watch crew that puts on oilskins when the weather gets bad. You can't have both.

If I remember correctly, the trigger for wet weather gear and manning guns is wind 11 mps in GWX.

It's lower for Type IIs - 9 m/s, I think.
