Default Palace Guard fired over Facebook rant.

  • Guardsman attacks Kate Middleton
  • Calls her a posh b**** and a cow
  • Army investigating him for racist posts

A BUCKINGHAM Palace guard has been axed from his regiment's duties on the day of the royal wedding after he ranted about Catherine Middleton on Facebook.

Scots Guardsman Cameron Reilly, 18, called the bride-to-be a "posh b****" on the social networking site.

The soldier, who regularly wears the famous bearskin hat and red tunic while on duty outside royal palaces, is also being investigated for racist posts.

Referring to Ms Middleton and Prince William, he wrote: "Hur and william drove past me on friday n all a got was a s****y wave while she looked the opposite way from me, stupid stuck up cow am a not good enough for them! posh b**** am totally with u on this 1 who reely gives a ******* about hur".

The guardsman, who has on his Facebook profile that he joined the Army in 2010, is seen posing on the website holding machine guns while wearing his uniform.
Commenting on the picture, he makes a racist remark, and while inside the Tower of London - where he is also pictured on Facebook - he makes an anti-Semitic posting.

Reilly, who lists "Super-strength lager" and "Causing Trouble" among his interests, is pictured kissing a bottle of vodka and posing with the fortified wine Buckfast on his page.

A spokesman for the MoD said the claims were being investigated.

What a moron. Why would you do that on Facebook, of all places?

People will eventually learn that anything you say on the internet is forever, and your employer, friends, significant others, family, clergy, et al can see it and use it against you.

Or maybe they won't. I don't post anything on Facebook that I wouldn't say to any of those people listed above's faces.

I would have hoped the selection process for such an elite posting would weed out such people. Or at least they would hammer in to them on day one that you don't do or say anything to embarrass the family you are representing.

Few centuries ago this kind of talk could have had some minor effects to man's life expectancy.

The guards that wears the famous bearskin hat and red tunic while on duty outside royal palaces are the welsh guards or scots guard?

Or Grenadier, Coldstream or Irish guards.
The Scots are the 3rd footguards and Welsh are the 5th.

Its funny when to think of when you get people complaining that they don't understand immigrants speaking.
You can get a Somali from the Gorbals speaking perfect local english and the BNP would still complain about blacks not fitting in

Those who don't will be weeded out by the 'Net's version of the "Darwin Effect"; the permanence of anything posted on the 'Net will consign them to a life of constantly dragging their follies behind them. When I was in elementary and high school, we were always warned of and threatened by the dreaded "Permanent Record" ('anything wrong you do will follow you through life on your permanent record...'). We all learned that the "Permanent Record" was essentially a myth. However, now, the Internet is fast becoming "Permanent Record" we feared; whatever we post does follow one around and is seemingly permanent. Add to this the growing tendency of employers, schools, etc. obtaining data about us from Net postings, either by ourselves or posting about us by others, and the scale of the effect of 'bad' postings is worrisome. Anyone who has sought employment recently knows that employers are less likely to interview you to find out about who you are in favor of the quicker (and cheaper) method of doing an Internet search of your name, sites, postings, etc. What one thought was a meaningless, minor post can block one from a job, school, or anything else; and once done, it cannot, sometimes, be undone.

Facebook...is that not for friends and keeping in contact with friends? Blogs are for spewing whatever you want about anyone you want with little to no recourse? I don't know, it is all very confusing.
