Oldest sub in NATO.

Oldest sub in the world is ROCS Hai Shih SS-791 (Fmr. USS Cutlass SS-478) launched 5 November 1944. Still in service today.

Launched in 44 and has been in continuous service since? Wow

I guess they got their money's worth out of that boat.

I thought so, but I was just saying what the reporter said, besides some errors.
By the way, did you say that a daphné class sub is a ww2 tecnology submarine?

EML Lembit was launched in 1936, it is still technically in service.

Reporters never know anything.

I don't think I said that. If I did I was slightly wrong, the Daphne' is based on the German Type XXIII much like our Tang class is based on the Type XXI however the Daphne is much newer.

Its hull design was a little dated but she was about generation ahead of the WWII boats. She is equivalent in development to the Romeo and Foxtrot classes of the USSR or the Oberon Class of the UK (Oberon slightly newer and more capable).

No, you did not. But the reporter said! I did a strange look when he said that, like whaaa??? But I think that's something that every one here thinks about our subs, that they are from ww2!
