Default Question

How does one go about creating new subs and stuff for SH3 if they're a total noob at modding?

Welcome aboard!!

You might want to post this in the SH3 mod forum, I am sure there are some way smart modders there who can help you.

You do know that there is a rule that you can't mod SH3 until you have sunk 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 tons right?

yes post this in the mods sction... otherwise google is your friend.... search battlesub mod for an updated version of the vxxi 3 flack guns... bigger deck gun and more torps.

http://www.silenthuntermods.com/foru...hp?topic=236.0

""[REF](3) The SeaWolf U-57 Battle Sub With Extra Items included v2.1

This mod has been updated to Version 2 for some very good reasons.
(1) the mod now has the stock version deck gun placed in a new position on the deck
(2) The response time of the Deck and Flak guns turning to target has been shortened so as the M42 flak gun can engage fighters and not spend its time turning around and never shooting.
(3) Shorter reload times on all guns.
(4) Faster rate of fire from all guns.
(5) New deck TGA added to the Flecktarn skin to remove the doubling effect on the lifeboat blisters.

Now the BattleSub is even deadlier to aircraft then before.""

yadda yadda yadda... theres more to it than that..... its not hard to manualy install.... just be sure to back everything up first... maybe even copy the whole program file onto a disk UNmodded... AND READ THE README FILE..... we were all noobs once!

And welcome to the pack

There are people on the forum who can help and advise you but tbh you are trying to sprint before you have learned to walk IMHO.

Start small....say with a sub skin or a sound file.

Model building is a whole new dimension and will involve the use of a few different types of programmes (the better ones are not freeware) if your seriously considering making that leap forwards.

Little steps, one at a time.

Vast amounts of patience,
sprinkled with hours of searching and reading the SubSim forums.
Add a 55 Gallon barrel of willingness to learn new programs in many areas.
Toss in a handful of PM'ing anyone who looks like they might be able to help you.
And then bake as long as it takes you.

Remember to stir occasionally.
