Default Should i get SH5?

I'm an old school SHIII player, i've been playing it on and off since i've got the game and get really immersed in it, GWX ontop and i'm in salt water heaven.

I've played some of SHIV and the addon and i like it for its prettyness and is improved by some mods.

however i know nothing of SHV, 3 was bugged, 4 was quite bugged and i'm wondering if they've followed the trend. If i get the game am i going to be dissapointed in it? what are your general views of it and how are you finding the overall experience?

Thanks guys.
Pete

It really depends on how many mods you want to use. SH5 out of the box was a little disappointing for me personally. However, after installing a few mods from the workshop I've got to admit I'm having easily as much fun with SH5 as I did with SH3+GWX, perhaps even more.

It does have it's little silly bugs, but then most games do. And most bugs have been fixed in the patches or by the modders anyway.

From what I hear SHV is relatively cheap now anyway, so why not!!

A bit late in the day with a post like this matey

if you've got SH3 and IV you may as well give V a try, it's getting better bit by bit as new mods are released.

Pretty much everything that can be said has already been said. Some love it. Some hate it. Everyone else is somewhere in between. Take your choice.

True enough. I've enjoyed playing SH5, despite its flaws. The mods have only made it better as time has gone on, and there is fun to be had with the game.

Yes.

But not right now. Wait tell.....

- DRM goes away
- price drops
- the 1.5 to 2 years worth of modding to fix the game has transpired.

In other words, wait tell hit its the bargain bin. I spent 55 bucks on this game, and i've barely got two weeks of play out of it before i shelved it out of boredom and disgust.

My 2 cents.

Bargain bin? You mean like under $10. It's only $20 bucks now. I think that is the lowest it will be for awhile. Me, I'm still waiting on DRM to be removed.

Prepare to wait for awhile. DRM isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Where is it $20? Best Buy and Steam have it for $49.99 and $59.99(Gold)

hmm, DRM removal? i'm not sure UBI are big on that, they do have a history of just ignoring people on that subject.
granted they broke the mold when they told us how to crack SH3 but i reckon thats simply because so many people still play it and windows 7 and star force are completely incompatable...

had to buy sniper elite again due to star force too...
