Probably a little bit less I'd say Castout because a shuttle launch has two booster rockets whereas an ICBM, IRBM or TBM would only be one rocket, but not much I'd have thought.

Here's a Minuteman III going up for comparison:

I have witnessed a shuttle launch a couple of times and by far aside from the sound is the towering colums of smoke.

Its as if god himself was pulling a string of smoke out of the ground.

It's a lot of thrust. Quite ironic considering the actual payload is not much bigger than a car, heck, one single MIRV warhead in the 300-400 kiloton region is about the height of a man. Still, have to get it up into the optimum re-entry position.
