Default [REL] WB's SH3 Commander mod

This mod makes my work compatible with any other mod or supermod through the power of SH3 Commander.

All my mods used to be created for GWX but this could cause conflicts with vanilla SH3, NYGM etc. Having spent a bit of time digging into JScones' SH3 Commander (and having hassled him with some stupid questions!) I found a way to make all of my mods compatible with any supermod, mod or combination of mods. It does this by just changing individual lines in SH3 rather than overwriting the entire file.

This mod consolidates a number of my smaller mods into one package for SH3 Commander:
Warning Orders. This will give you Warning Orders for impending operations and news of recent events.
Randomised Intro Message. This adds randomised messages to the 'ticker-tape' that runs at the bottom of the main loading screen in SH3 and changes the 'not so long ago...' message you see just before the game completes loading
Mid-Patrol Radio Orders. This gives you orders to patrol to another grid during your patrol.
Deck Gun Range. This adjusts the setting for 'Short Range' for your deck gun to 1500m rather than the default 1000m. No more nasty surprises from jimbuna's Q-ship!
Decks Awash. This replaces the 'Snorkel Depth' (; key) setting for your U-boat to allow you to sail with decks awash.
Fuel Economy. This replaces the speed setting for 'Ahead One Third' (number 2 key) with the most fuel economic setting for your U-boat.
Renown Replacement. This replaces the GWX renown for reaching your patrol grid (nil) with stock SH3 values.

You can use any or all of these mods as long as you enable them in the order in the Readme and they should be compatible with any other mod or supermod.

I have to add huge thumbs up for JScones - not only is he incredibly patient when asked yet another bone question but I'm continuing to learn just how powerful his utilities are for SH3 and I get more and more impressed every day. Thank you once again, Jaesen, for putting the time and effort into JSGME and SH3 Commander and sharing them with the community.

Default Wow!

I can only say 'well done and thanks', for such a big job.

Brilliant too! Line by line just makes perfect sense.

Default Install question

Your readme says that we must install this in SH3 Commander and not directly to SH3, using JSGME. I'm not sure what that means. I have your folder now in the same folder as Commander, but loading up Commander I see no way to use your mods.

Could you elaborate?

JSGME can mod almost any PC game, and also SH3Cmdr.

Install it in your CMDR folder, and then install this mod into the mod folder. Then activate it.
My radio mod works the same way. Actually, I have several mods in my SH3Cmdr install.

As irish has said, JSGME can be installed in any game and I also use it with SH3 Commander as I have a number of SH3 Cmdr mods including SailorSteve's Loading Screens and a GWX 3 Skin Pack.

You can get JSGME from: http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/sof...cts-jsgme.html
and the JSGME User Guide (with installation instructions) is at: http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/sof...on/JSGMEUG.pdf

The difference, WB, is that your questions don't start with "SH3CMDR IS BUGGED!!!"

No problems - it's great seeing people realise its potential.

(albeit five years after release, LOL!)

It's potential is almost unlimited; too bad we don't have similar programs for other games (i.e, SH4 and SH5).

Hi WB.

Great idea. Since I already merged some of your mods into my private GWX-mod-collection, it's too late for me for this SH3-Cmdr compatible version. But in spite of this I used your mod in order to learn more about the SH3 Cmdr. usage and potential. It's a really great tool if one knows how to use it.

greetings,
h.sie

WB, can you tell me if the mod order is right?

WB's SH3 Cmdr Mod v0.7
WB's Mid-Patrol Radio Orders GWX
WB's Patrol Orders - America, Amerika, Amérique
WB's Warning Orders
1. WB's Deck Gun Range
2. WB's Decks Awash
3. WB's Fuel Economy
4. WB's Renown Replacement

Yes.

As long as the 1, 2, 3, 4 are enabled in that order you can apply the rest wherever you like. 1 - 4 all adjust the same files which is why they have to be put in that order. The rest adjust different files so can be applied in any order.

Thank You!

By the way, the mid patrol orders, I still need to enable only one region at a time or can I put more than one?

The Patrol Orders overwrite each other so if you enable all of the Patrol Orders only the last one will work.

If there's something specific you're after I can generate a new version for you as I have all of my WIP files.

No, there is no need for it. Thank you!

Default Changng Commander Data

Hi, Is there any way to change the commander data besides the name, such as place and date of birth, in SH3Commander? Thanks, Kapitän
