You worry about a badly worded document that was written in very different times and has been found faulty from the moment it was written??????

what a jackass.

how do you get a $15,000 medical bill when theres "nothing wrong and it will be ok"

Take my wife's pre-existing garbage and her injections she needs daily to live which costs $30,000 per year.

even she is against this garbage.

these people on the hill are fools.

Funny how the people who bring up the Constitution when lawmakers want to reign in the abuses of insurance companies were the same people who were so quick to say it didn't matter when warrantless wiretapping was instituted.

show me a quote where steamwake said that the constitution doesnt matter in regards to warrantless wire tapping or it didnt happen.

Mookie, read this statement carefully:

Nobody here is defending insurance companies or their abuses.

"we" want health care reform as bad as "you" do... in fact MY family DESPERATELY needs appropriate reform - however as the supreme court ruled in some similar cases in the past, the United States Congress does not have the authority to require citizens to purchase any particular good or service.

that, and that alone is what many of "us" take issue with.

lets solve health care... im on board with that, lets put our heads together and do the right thing here, lets come up with a good plan lets do this thing!!!

but hey... lets do it without forcing a mandate onto the people.

deal?

(probably not)

I think you'll find the constitution becomes so much nice paper whenever this country(USA) feels threatened, or is at war. And that goes for all governments too.

It will be pushed under the rug, and if it ever sees the light of day, then all those constitutional requirements will be massaged, and argued, until some scapegoat gets hung for it, and then propiety gets restored and it's "Miller Time".

I mean seriously, how many laws are determined to be unconstitutioal after they have been enacted, fought in court, and ruled so? That is due process and just how it works.

Health care reform could have easily been done in a way acceptable to the people.

There were some good ideas on both sides - to protect the consumer and reduce costs.

I agree with the idea that 80% of insurance premiums should have to go back out to paying medical costs - limiting insurers from just jacking up the premium costs for more profit.

But many other ideas that would have really helped - didn't make the cut - while things both harmful and illegal - not to mention other issues that were totally unrelated to health care - were included....

That is why this was a horrible idea - and I back the urologist in florida all the way - get care somewhere else Obama voters - your health care just changed!

They should have to take the same test immigrants are given to be eligible for office. I would probably fail now myself.

Ah, but that would require changing the Constitution.

Represenative Hare did something that no Democrats including obama will do, he told the truth on how he feels about something.Judging by their recent actions, most Democrats feel the same way that Represenative Hare does, which means they need to be kicked out of office soon.

Tribesman, in the words of Ronald Reagan....there you go again.

The Constitution, while written in different time includes things that make it as relevant now as it was when it was first penned by Jacob Shallus.Freedom of speech , the right to due process, own a firearm etc is as relevant now as it was then and will remain so for eternity. The entire document is the foundation of this nation which makes it highly relevant and whether the "progressives" like it or not, is the supreme law of the land. This means that any law the government passes or action it takes that is found to violate the constitution must be thrown out or corrected. This is the reason some criminals can get away when their rights are violated by law enforcement , because like it or not every citizen is entitled to rights granted by the Constitution. The founders lived under oppressive government and thus the reason they included the rights etc they did, so that even 234 years(almost) later when faced with a dangerous ideologly and it's followers, including the President, we have the rights they fought for and the ability to endure the assault so that America will survive. Here we have a member of congress from the democratic party saying he does not care about the supreme law of the land and that seems to be the feeling among pretty much all in the party since most voted for the health care bill.

I am a Conservative and disliked the patriot act from day one.Post 9/11 was a different time and mistakes were made. That mistake is a far cry though from government intrustion into health care and blatantly violating the constitution by attempting to force citizens to buy insurance or be punished. This is not a special time, this is a President and his party in congress trying to runover the constitution because they do not value it, all in the name of their utopia.
