Default ATTN GWX Modders....

Hi

I really enjoy the GWX Mod as I play it a lot.

However there are some problems I am having with it, Well not really problems but these create a poor playing exp for me, Listed below.

When on Patrol there are way to many aircraft attacks, I can handle the barroge of sub killers (named at that time period) but there are far too many attcks... Meaning after I finish them off I continue to my patrol area at 1024 speed increased but no more than 2 mins later if that theres another group of killers after me again. If there is a way to reduce the time these attacks are sent at me please consider changing this.

Ok now thats taken care of
Not enough Ships sailing to attack, Sometimes I have to go into the enemy harbour to hunt my prey since I can not find any (or very few) on my patrols.

thanks!

Much work was put into the air traffic and at such a high time compression (tc) as your quoting it is no suprise you are attacked frequently.

Try travelling at no more than x128 and only go higher when you are mid Atlantic for example and out of aircraft flying range (the SH world map will show you the range by date).

Check you have the correct campaign file loaded for the area/theatre your sailing in eg: Black Sea file means only Black Sea area has life/shipping in it.

If your computer can handle it I suggest you enable the Merged campaign file....that way all the SH3 world will be populated.

oh no!
there hasn't to be GWX adopted but your ways to sim the game.

so you gonna be attacked by air-craft. you don't evade them at 40-60m but fight them and shoot them down. good so far. but, haven't you realized that the last distress call was to bring in some more planes?
you can't go to 1024TC right after that!
they are hunting you atm!!

please for the sake of the Vaterland, be careful and choose your next steps wisely.

In 1939-1941, you will avoid air attacks by being discreet when you are close to enemy coasts. If it is clear skies, I usually submerge around dawn -- timed to be at a good choke point -- and dawdle till dusk. If the visibility is poor, I barge on ahead. Once you are attacked by air, though, call it a day. Go below and dawdle. They know where you are and they will keep looking.

There are plenty of ships out there to sink. Go into the Hebrides Strait, and then down into the Western Approaches.

Or, if you are in a IID, work the English coast... its out there.

SH3 with GWX3 is a beautiful game of patience and skill.

There are plenty of ships around it's just a matter of finding them. The areas north and south of Ireland, Just west of Gibralter, Around the english Channel (Just Becareful there, Lots of Naval ships and Aircraft) and if you really want ships hit Scapa Flow (but stay submerged)

Also I have avoided aircraft's by sticking to the convoy lanes, staying out of range for aircraft. In my first career I was attacked LOTS by aircraft, but I have yet to see a single one in this career. I'm on my ninth patrol in mid 1940

Grids AM51-53,55 And the northern parts of BE-BF are where I sink most of mine

grid BE, CF, CG are the probably best areas.
and in 1942 you could challenge the coast of Nova Scotia and NewFoundland, if you are brave.

It can be either fatal or very rewarding

Yes it can, it feels pretty good to watch them slam into the water. But how rewarding? How much renown do you get for a plane?

not a whole lot... the risk/reward eqaution is not very good I'm afraid, that ought to teach you not to mess with aircraft, it's a habit that will eventually be fatal... shooting down stringbags off Norway in 1940 is not quite the same as engaging wellingtons in 1942... and don't even try Mosquitos in 1944....
just dive...
and use your flak guns for shooting up anything under 500 GRT like fishing boats and such

I tried this once. You'll find my old sub somewhere near the grand banks on the bottom.
