Default Any hint of a special edition?

Both SH3 adn SH4 had special editions with some goodies ... I bought both of them and as a collector I would like to also have one in Sh5. What about a good printed map, again a recognition manual, or this time a nice wiz-wheel or map tool?

Rgr that! I loved the ops map that AoD had. Maybe a large poster (or file) of a U-boat would be cool. Like the one Neal has on his wall.

Something different that would be neat, could be a disk of archive footage or interviews with some of the veterans.

I only bought the SH4 deluxe version, and most of it was a POC...
I just got the first regular shop version of SH3, which contained a fold-out-map of the Atlantic. Which I used in the beginning.
So what did the SH3 deluxe version contain? Anything good?

There was no SH-3 special edition. You got what everyone else got.

The later cheaper versions of SH-3 were missing map or manual.

SH-4 was the many multi-version marketing genuis of UBISOFT suits.

They try that crap on SH-5 and it will be a PIRATES market.

I'd like to know too. My SH4 pen is looking for a sleeker, younger model friend.

Oh, who am I kidding, of course I'd be sucked into buying a deluxe edition.

If I'm not mistaken, SH3 came out in a limited version with a printed recognition manual and foldable map and keyboard chart. Ordinary versions only had the map and keyboard chart, and later cheap version everything in PDF.

I think I heard that once. But then, SH4 deluxe came with such a manual and what was it worth? Nada.... Once modders start adding ships, the only manual worth anything is the one inside the game...
Anyway, I didn't miss out on anything it seems then...

It sure came with a printed manual, because I have it

I meant that I'm not sure today if that was a limited edition or just the first 500 copies, or whatever....

I seem to remember it was going to be the first few hundred, then it was extended to... I think pre-ordered copies from Ubisoft directly? I know that there was no special 'boxed edition' as the Jiffy bag came from Ubisoft France with the recognition manual as a seperate item.

I hope it comes with a manual. My Sh4 was disk only.
I had to use my Sh3 manual to figure out fleetboats?

Do you have any links for that? I'm interested in a collectors edition, but if it contains crap only then they can keep it.
And a gamepad is crap to me...

YES! EB Games shows a listing for a collector's edition - AU$108. No indication yet on the inclusions, but still, it's a positive indication that one will exist.

Anyway, some quotes from the features list that may help answer some of the issues that have been argued here lately...
Quote:
WAR STRATEGIES: Choose your own strategy and select your targets with a new objective-driven, dynamic campaign.
NEW USER INTERFACE: Prowl the waters with a brand-new user interface. Now, every beginner can successfully command a sub while remaining free of confusion. In expert mode, experienced players will be provided all the necessary information and controls to command the sub completely on their own.
And one sure to please mookie:
Quote:
CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE: Experience the most realistic and immersive Silent Hunter ever created. Improved environment graphics create a powerful level of immersion as you operate authentic, highly detailed U-boats and fight against surface ships.
Sorry mate, couldn't resist.
