Default manual TDC error

I have had this problem recurr several times: I am in an ideal setup for a 90 Deg. shot, close range, and enter the bearing, AOB, range etc into the TDC, and a look at the attack map shows the torpedoes pointing in an entirely different direction than the target, usually 120 deg or more away from the target. I tried re-setting everything and even shut the TDC off and it makes no difference. Later, the attack map fails to inticate the path of the torpedo,(no green line). Can this be fixed? Thanks! Joe S

Are you using the rear tubes for a forward target?

Are you clicking the dails twice......?

Is your game patched to at least 1.4, but I don't think that was a bug.

One thing you didn't mention was speed. Did you determine correct speed and set it?

How close. There is a range where the TDC can't tell forward from aft. Try manually plugging in a range of about 1000 yards and see if that makes a difference.

I cant recall exactly but I estimate the range was under 750 yds. What you describe sounds like exactly the problem. Are there any parameters to this "dead zone"? Thanks, Joe S

I made a few tests ... couldn't quite pin it down. Usually, the problem crops up with automatic targeting ... but it might also happen with manual inputs. Personally, I get in very close but manually set the TDC to 1000 yards. I also input everything, even when using vector logic, just to confirm my firing solution.

Are you leaving the TDC set at zero range? If so you'll get completely senseless targeting or the torpedo will refuse to shoot.
