Default Such a different game ..

now that I have started to play D.I.D @ 100% realism and taken the time to LEARN the correct way to hunt.

For 21/2 years I just messed around and chased the elusive Capital ships and only came across a couple of cruisers and a single aircraft carrier and never a Battleship..

But since going to OLC's GUI (manual targeting) and actually taking the time to learn to intercept a task force or convoy the game has definitely changed for the better.

Finally last night I intercepted a Task Force with the "HOOD" sitting smack dab in the middle of it. It was a beautiful sight after NEVER seeing a ship of her type before (due to poor hunting skills).

I positioned myself nicely to avoid her escorts, thanks to large swells/crappy weather, and when she was within 1300 meters my excitement rose. "her she comes " I thought to myself. BUT then the task force seemed to take a hard right into its 90 and vanish like a fart in the wind. I was disappointed, having not even been able to launch a torp or two. Oh well. She may have gotten away but at least I FINALLY got a glimpse of her. Awesome game/mods

During the norwagian campaning ive seen several task forces but always at mid day and always had been on my visual range traveling oposite to me with high speed.

Never got the chance to attack them but ive observed a luftwafe attack on one of them

I also play with OLC and it is much better than the stock tools.

I have only see them early in the war, after 41 not a sight of them. Guess they are too busy losing the skies over the fatherland.

I made a submerged attack on Hartlepool at high noon in a previous career in a Type VIIB. Risky: There are antisub nets. Just as I was lining up a torpedo shot, I heard something freaking weird, so I tipped my periscope up just in time to say hello to flight after flight of He-111s, droning overhead and bombing my lovely unsuspecting targets.

And the water surrounding my boat.

Yeah. I was not amused.

I don't know the location you were in but it looks like one of two things happened here:

1) They reached a waypoint and changed direction toward the next one and moved out of visual range in the 'crappy' weather.

or

2) They reached their final waypoint and were scripted to vanish at this point (this is done to prevent a log jam of ships and potential ctds).
