A heads up would be too much to ask from the government. Wonder what Brainiac thought this little "photo op" up?

Wait a minute, aren't we supposed to be finding ways to save money? This looks like a rather expensive photo opportunity,

Default Air Force One Photo Op Triggers Panic in Manhattan

http://www.abcnews.go.com/Blotter/st...7439287&page=1

Quote:
A photo shoot involving a 747 used as Air Force One and one fighter jet flying at low altitude led to hundreds of frightened calls from residents and workers in Lower Manhattan this morning, triggering memories of 9-11 as many evacuated their offices. The president was not aboard.
GEEZUS!!

Did not ANYONE think that this may you know... Scare the crap out of people in a city hit with terrorism in the past?

Yes with a simple lens or proximity you can see its just Air Force One (Or its Copy in this case) but at a distance it looks like a 747 and even I would be worried at that point.

Caused a boatload of panic..

Obviously they called 911.

And why? Well they thought it might have been some kind of terrorist attack. Yes there is many reasons why it was silly to assume tho (If they could see it was the copy of AF1 that is) but this is NY and 9-11 has not been forgotten yet.

Therefore at best it was extremely stupid and insensitive to the people who bore the brunt of that terrible day.

How would you react to a 747 with a fighter escort flying around your high rise building while you were at work on your computer?

I would've been out of there faster than a speeding bullet ...

BTW it wasent really airforce one, rather a 747 mocked up to look like AF1.

I suppose there is a little logic there.

Perfectly understandable why people would panic seeing this after all they have been through and it will probably take a few more years yet to look up in the sky and see a passenger jet followed by a fighter plane and not run for cover.
A bit inconsiderate to say the least to let this happen in the first place.

But I don't think the BBC should be running this story. You are the one who said it was an "international story drawing criticism". I'm just pointing out there ain't all that much criticism because the liberal media isn't pushing the story like they would be if it were on Republicans watch.
Oh please.
