Default U-69 Lost

Today at 1430hrs, Nov.23, 1943, U-69 was lost at sea in the N. Atlantic. After a long career since 1939 and successful patrol #21, Steiner radioed she was heading home. Helga was aboard. May she rest in peace. Oh what a piece she was ..

Too bad about your sub, I almost had the same fate with mine.

I remember when U-23 and her crew faced their untimely end. She was a sturdy VIIB that had served with distinction but her number was up when she got caught in shallow waters near Hartlepool on her ninth patrol. May Ltn. z. S. Unterwelt and his men rest in peace.

I'm hoping Obltn. z. S. Schutz and the men of U-47 survive the war. I've gotten rather attached to this particular command.

Yep. A real goof. I was on the phone and it was very important so I ignored the sim running on another computer ... next thing I know when I check I am a gonner. I had no crew loss of life in the entire career, a tonnage above the aces and what can you do ... dead is dead. I have new crew and boat and base and we shall continue on till the end of the war. Won't be the same as that last AI crew was top notch. I mis-managed.
