Default Most Powerful Ship Sunk With Deck Gun

I almost never use the deck gun on anything but unarmed ships, but I know some
people take on destroyers.

Any one sunk a Black Swan Class or bigger?

How about Battleships?

battleships?
it is a joke?
imposible!
battleships have the HP (health points)

For first - Your uboat change in the junk after atack on surface
Black Swan sinking is possible but from the really large range.

what game level? normal? there is hmmm....

easy like this game level...

on 100% (im 100% real level prayer) real this trick is realy difficult.

Liberty Cargo..... those things have as many guns as a DD but are easier to hit at range

Also sank a Flower once in stock SH3, wouldn;t wanna try that in GWX

funny story.

i encountered a task force once in "stock" ages ago.

torpedoed a BB and the others ran off in the distance. the BB didnt sink, but instead listed hard to port and slowed to about 2 knots.

i followed him and managed to position myself about 300 meters off his starboard side.

his guns couldnt aim down enough to hit me so when i surfaced i manned the flack guns and shot off all of his open AA guns which were trying to shoot at me.

then i manned the deck gun and emptied every single round into him.

i dont think it made so much as a dent, but it caused a couple of secondaries and he was noticably lower in the water.

eventually as the escorts came rushing back from the now far gone convoy, i gave the BB a stern shot which finished him off.

i dont know about stock SH3, but i think in GWX large warships are pretty much impervious to deck gun rounds.

I got lucky with a GWX Corvette in Tobruk Harbour once. It ran afoul of a subnet and I just sat on her six and hammerd her until she sank. No rear facing armament on em.

Sunk an VW in GWX2.1 early in the war. Meet him in the night on the surface (2000m away). HE didn't spot me, so I draw first blood at the tail turret and after 10 hits, dive to avoid return fire. he sunk later.

In stock, I used to outshoot corvettes and trawlers all the time, since my marksmanship was better than the computers'.

Black Swans, destroyers, or bigger: AALLLAAAAARRMMM!!!

And that one time with that convoy...
Let's just say that in retrospect, it was a bit stupid of me to think I could outshoot two armed trawlers and two Flowers on the surface, even if it was a night fight....

As long as I can kill it with my deck gun, Ill do it, Ive taken on distroyers and armed patroal craft in my boat, I always win. only once i sustained damage, But its early war now.

Too bad. In real life they had a 40mm cannon on a bandstand back there. Could shoot anywhere but forward. Montsarrat tells a story of killing everybody on the deck of a u-boat with one when it was forced to surface and tried to attack from the rear. Pure carnage.

In an Old sub game I had I came accross two battle groups ( one carriers, one BB's with with only a couple of escorts each) in the pacific (was playing american V's Japan). Sank all the carriers and crippled both battleships. I then surfaced and started using my deck gun on them. sank one with 15 rounds left. I then moved on to the last BB. Used all the deck gun rounds, then all the heavy flak, and was down to the last 6 rounds of light flak when she gave up the ghost

The tonnage from that patrol was something to remember! Something in the order of 250,000 tons! I'm the tonnage king of the world!!!!:p

Maby in a single patroal, but not in a capagine. Ive sunk over 500,000 tons in 15 patroals.

I've managed to sink a DD with a deck gun, and kind off unexpetedly too. It one point early in the war I found a VW class shot a torp at it, it hit but much to my dismay it didn't sink and it ran way. A few days later and to the east of Scapa Flow I was informed that there was a warship in the area by the sonar operator. Low and behold there was the same DD!! I then started surfacing and diving as I shot at the DD and it shot back. I won with no damage to my U-Boat. And yes this was in GWX.

Last night i took on a flowerpot at night with the deckgun (set to 15s reloading for reality purpose) leading a convoy and was able to disable its guns/set it on fire. The other 2 other escorts both swans for this convoy i sunk the day before after a nerfdraining hourlong duell while the convoy remained course. The flower on fire/gun out of order then ran away towards the convoy and unfortunately there was a fidschi in the convoy. The flower took aim with its searchlight at me and the light cruiser opened fire with a barrage from 4km distance. It took 37% of my hull integrity, damaged the forward tubes, some minor other dmgs and sadly my 2nd WA (now only 3 officers left in this patrol) got a sea burrial before i could disable the search light and gave the flower the final blow with the gun. But thats the largest warship i would ever use the deckgun.
