Default U.S. Soldier Ethan McCord speaks about Collateral Murder video

And when the plane got down to, 'The plane is 10 miles out,' the young man also said to the vice president, 'Do the orders still stand?' And the vice president turned and whipped his neck around and said, 'Of course the orders still stand. Have you heard anything to the contrary?' Well, at the time I didn't know what all that meant.

This probably helped recruit more insurgents.

Quote:
The level of hatred, anger, malice and racist poison that front line troops are covertly encouraged to vent on the enemy is all part of the technique to make them an obedient killing machine. Before US was born, the psychological training for warfare used the idea of a common enemy, presented by the media (church and educators then) as a direct risk to their families' security. However, history later reveals they fought for the welfare of the elite protecting their international trade routes
This.

Once again: War. War never changes.

Would you be saying that if it were your family up there instead of a stranger?

Sure would. I would be embarrassed if my family rolled out of bed, put on t-shirt and pants and think that is how one dresses in front of a crowd while giving a speech. Also, I specially enjoyed how he said that his NCO and officers are evil - emotionless devils. And that he refused his duty by not firing on combatants - but on a wall. Or that he lied by saying ROE dictate that he can engaged anyone that would look at him funny.

Can't even post comment on that video..youtube sucks

This was I was about to post as comment

"USA........

Note to youtube viewers whenever you see a sensitive clip on the right side there must be a snippet of hot chicks provided by youtube to serve as your distraction so you'd stop viewing sensitive clip such as this and click on that sexy picture instead.

"

Sigh youtube . . .

Maybe China's rising is all for the better.....in the end I hope evil prey on another evil in the end . . . .the only useful thing about evil

Wild hypothesis: when you go to a war zone, see your friends dying, live in a fear of dying yourself, hold wounded children, see the child's blood on your clothes and all that kind of stuff days and days in row...

...I'm somehow inclined to believe that after an experience like that you won't really give a **** about what kind of T-shirt or pants you are wearing. But great to see that the core point of the video was found .

As for the video itself: I didn't and don't support the war, though I'm a foreigner anyway so it doesn't matter. Still, I have nothing but sympathy for the people serving in there. McCord kept his cool in that video admirably well, but at some points it seemed to be very difficult for him. And I'm not enough of an internet tough guy to blame him.

There, soap box free for anyone willing to use it.
