Default Commander Career Question

I'm on my 14th patrol in the 1st flotilla out of Kiel.
I want to start a new career at a specific time/place and in a specific boat.
If I start a new career will it kill my existing career or can I switch back & forth?

I have read the Commander manual, but I don't see anything saying that I can have two separate careers going at the same time.

Does anyone know for sure...guessing doesn't do me any good.

You can start as many careers you want. SH3Cmdr allows you to switch back and forth between them without any problems

Yep. I started three at the same time; one from each available flotilla.

One think to remember though. In order to enable/disable mods you need to Rollback SH3Cmdr (no-matter which career you're playing) and you must be at port (only for the career that you're playing though). Be very careful not to mess up the installation with cross enabling/disabling mods with different careers.

what do you mean by "messing up the install".
What would be the proper way to do the mods with two or more separate careers running?

What could you do to cause things to get messed up?

The manual doesn't say anything on it. Do you have to have the mods enabled for each career? I thought once you had a group of mods enabled that they would just work with anything.

What is the correct procedure for adding mods when you have multiple but separate careers?

Do you only need to enable the mods through jsgme once or for each separate career?
I can screw things up and never know why.

What I mean is that if you have different mods enabled for the different careers you might cause trouble to your installation. Let me explain this with an example.

Let's say that you have career A with a VII and career B with a IX. now obviously you want to enable the correct Sub Skins for the two boats in the two careers. The way I would do that would be:

1. Establish career A in SH3Cmdr
2. Rollback SH3Cmdr (if needed)
3. Enable the skin for VII with JSGME
4. Run GWX to create the files you need and start playing the game.
5. Save and exit (let's say you're mid patrol)
6. Establish career B in SH3Cmdr
7. Rollback SH3Cmdr

Here is where the problem can happen. If you want to get rid of the VII skin to use the IX skin you might mess up your installation. I would suggest you get your Career A in port, then Rollback SH3Cmdr and then alter any mods you like. This of course apply for any mod you want to use. Is this more clear? If not let me know and I'll explain it further
