Against all Odds

I am very close to the Bohol Sea and the enemy ships on the surface aren't dropping depth charges but the mission ends as failed. I have no damage as far as I can tell. I can even surface the boat and finsh off the ships on the surface. The mission still ends the same way. I haven't hit the bottom either.

Has anyone completed this mission? What am I doing wrong?

You have to go to the orange star and remain there till it turns gray.
You will get a message at that time letting you know you suceeded.
Personally, I call that a dumb mission cause no captain worth his salt
would take his boat thru there in the daytime. Shallow water in daytime
is a bigger enemy than all the Japanese ships & planes combined. You are
a fly in a spider web, no way out...

PS. Try one of my patrols, they are much better than most of the stock stuff.

There is a time limit on reaching there. Not sure what it is. Pretty short. Supposedly based on a real incident, but I'm not sure how closely.
