"Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943" Demo Released
From Graviteam, the makers behind the excellent Steel Fury tank sim. Although this is not a tank sim, it's an RTS game. But I know there's some here still interested in it. Last I heard they will be going back to making another tank sim sometime after this game.

Yeah, I downloaded it yesterday as soon as it became available. FYI, don't bother to DL the manual, as it is already embedded in the program files under Docs>Support.
Achtung Panzer is going to have quite a learning curve I'm afraid. I printed out the entire manual and have not had much time to get into the game. AP screams for an in-game tutorial. AP is a combo of a boardgame, turn-based game and RTS game in one. When playing the Demo don't forget to activate the Tool-Tip Tutorial option. That will help somewhat. |

Wow, boy I'll say. I might not even bother with it until the full game is released with the manual and hopefully an in-depth tutorial. Just don't have the time to dive into this one.

All I can say about AP is "WOW"! This looks and plays incredibly well already, although it's quite complex. Thank GOD for the Russians - without them, there'd be almost nothing for those of us who appreciate depth and authenticity: KA-50, IL-2 1946, Theatre of War, and now this.
Also, the new demo for ToW2: Kursk 43 is out. Similar sort of game, although this one looks much more ambitious as it includes an Operational element - but one where the actual engagements are resolved tactically in 3D. But, I digress. Incredible looking - and wholly unexpected - sim.

I just bought this,for £14.95 a real bargain.
It's going to take some learning,I am more used to simpler RTS games. It looks like a very well made game.Lots of neat features. Goodbye any spare time I had.And yes, lets hear it for the Russians. |

Next sim
This is a foretaste of what their next tanksim is going to be like.It will make Steel Fury look like a Flintstone cartoon by comparison.
This year is going to be Nirvana for tanksimmers between ZW's new reborn TvsT Kursk and hopefully Graviteam next tank sim later this year. |
