Strategy games introduced
Here the tankers have a multi-page thread going introducing strategy games to the other guys. Maybe there are some games you did not know so far!? Good pages to wade through.
http://www.steelbeasts.com/topic/11699-wargames/ P.S. The thread features comopute rgames and tabletop/map&counter games as well. Interesting stuff to be discovered.

The ultimate classic strategy game: Civilization 2 !
I still play it! Simple graphics but unbeatable gameplay. The naval units in its 'modern' era are nicely balanced and can be played infinitely: Battleship = most powerful unit in direct combat, but becomes somewhat obsolete as cruise missiles are introduced AEGIS Cruiser = not as strong as a battleship, but very resistant to aircraft and missile attacks. Submarine = invisible 'glass cannon'. You'll sink most naval units if you attack first, but they'll usually sink you if they see you/attack you first. Subs are also able to carry cruise and nuclear missiles. There's also: aircraft carrier, transport ships, Cruiser, and Destroyer, etc. units. Awesome game. |
