Default Formula 1 to Nix USA GP

I've been a F1 fan ever first since I saw "Grand Prix" on the big screen in 1966 ( I was 12). After all these years I believe that I'm entitled to hate Bernie Ecclestone worse than getting kicked in the slats. And because he never fails to disappoint me, I do. He's a greedy, extortionist, rotten little gnome - even if he's right once in a while.

Next year's inaugural United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, is on the brink of being axed, according to Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone.

The news comes a day after developers of the new Circuit of Americas track said building had stopped.

Ecclestone said the 18 November race would be called off at the next meeting of F1's governing body the FIA.

"Yes, it will be, for sure," said Ecclestone, adding he was waiting for guarantees of payment.

The FIA World Motorsport Council is meeting on 7 December.

Nothing unusual for F1, though. Politics is more important than racing.

Don't forget sponsorship, sponsors have a huge influence on F1 today.

I can see some sponsors pulling out in the not too distant future....on budgetry grounds alone.

I am confused by the order of events. Which came first

The construction of the track stops

The F1 people decided not to hold the race?

If you reach that high age and that kind of a banking account - and still are obsessed like this with youth and money and controlling things, then you have not learned some important lessons, and your whole life was a waste, a path choosen wrong, a final result saying "gotten misled".
