Default Name your favorite HORROR movie

I figured since this is the month of Halloween we should name our favorite horror movies. This is sometimes a good way to get ideas for movies out there that people haven't seen or perhaps they have forgotten about them and would like to see them again.

So, I will start.

My all time favorite horror movie would have to be "The Shining"! The scenes and sounds still give me the chills years later.

Plus the cast was great!

Jack Nicholson
Shelly Duvall
and Scatman Crothers

Favorite quote from the movie: "Here's Johnny!" - Jack Nicholson

Mine is Snakes on a Plane. I pee my pants everytime I watch it.

The 1st Alien movie with Ridley Scott directing gets my vote every time. John Carpenter's 1982 version of The Thing I personally found a lot creepier than his Halloween but that's just me.

Well, I was in 5th grade at the time, so they were that much scarier.

2. All of the Hellraiser Movies...trippy.
3. The Serpent and the Rainbow..."Don't bury me...I'm not dead!"

My Wife to be is the horror movie fan. I not a horror movie fan, but love her so much I watch them with her.

She love's The Butterfly Effect, but I hated it so much I couldn't watch more than half.

The Ring wasn't too bad:hmm:

Enjoyed the Blade Trillogy, but she got scared in the second one!!

She was freaked out by Saw

Which version of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre? The old one or the new one?

We won't go there with HellRaiser - Those movies get me every time! Creepy! Good picks BTW!

When I first saw Serpent in the Rainbow i thought it was creepy. But now that I have seen Casper, I always associate Bill Pullman with that and Serpent in the Rainbow isn't as creepy anymore.

Didn't seem like one!

Yes, the new SAW movies are quite good! Can't wait for part 3 to come out!

Alien Movies are always on these list. I agree, they are creepy but I always put them in the SCIFI section. I only liked 1 and 2, the rest sucked!

The Thing however is another great one! Good Pick and HIGHLY recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Does anyone else have a hard time getting in the water after watching the first JAWS movie or is it just me? I think that's the ONLY horror movie that actually scares me outside of my living room even today.

Perhaps this is because sharks are real things and there actually has been real shark attacks. Everyone knows that Freddy Kruger isn't really going to get them in their sleep, but you never know about a shark getting you in the ocean.

True. Saw movies are considered thrillers, but to some people this might be the "horror" that they fear the most since it could actually happen in real life!
