Has it been improved?

Sorry to write a somewhat negative post for my first one. I was really getting enthused about buying Silent Hunter III until I clicked on the "Buy it now" thing and was transported to Amazon.com. Then I started reading the reviews. Good grief!!!
Have all the bugs and glitches been corrected with this sim? I have a USB-style writeable DVD and it says only internal DVDs that aren't writeable will work with it.
They even had a post from a rep at UBIsoft that suggested to someone who had already bought the game to BUY a non-writeable internal DVD to play the game!!!
And the problems with Starforce slowing down the comp and installing all kinds of drivers. Plus crashes to desktop and graphics problems. Has all this stuff been fixed or what? Even at $20 from Amazon, I don't want to buy a sim that is going to wreck my comp.

Hi,

I believe there is an official patch to remove the StarForce protection, so I think you would be safe. Better wait for confirmation though .

Well, I can say that I have never had ANY problems with this DVD on my internal writeable drive.

The patches had fixed most of the glitches.

I hope you are right. And I sure WON'T be buying a new DVD just to play the sim!
I REALLY want to buy this sim, but doing a full re-install of XP would just be a disaster for me.

Mate, you are reading a lot of bluster by anti-Starforce people who are on a crusade. If you are a normal person with a normal PC, and you don't have some high level copy tools, you should be fine. I've loaded SH3 on three different computers, two with DVD burners and Nero, never had any problems.

Enjoy
Neal
