Shipboard lighting

I hope that this isn't considered a secret, but can anyone tell me what the 'battle' lighting aboard a ship / sub might be?

Do they use Red lights or just go with a standard white light all the time?

Someone told me that they thought that blue light might be used.

Different in different areas? Different conditions?

I don't see why you would need battle lighting aboard a sub really, but on surface vessels we have something called night, lighting. This is to improve night vision. This means red lights in most of the rooms. But in the CIC we use blacklight(blue or purple if you like). It does make your nightvision a bit poorer, but its much easier reading papers and watching screens.
