When I put up my scope last time, saw a destroyer coming at me at ramming course at 200 meters distance, ordered a crash dive, got away and looked at the neutral looking faces of my crew, I realised I miss something in this game.
I miss immersing music. We got out gramaphone of course and it plays nice tunes. But it doesn't interact with your actions in the game. Wouldn't it be nice if the music would reflect your actions ingame. When your shadowing a convoy. hearing the song Konvoy from Das Boot. When you almost get rammed by a destroyer hearing some exiting music. Now, whatever you do, even if you almost get killed or downed 3 tankers. It's silent or the gramaphone plays the same music. the crew looks the same. Somethings I get the feeling that whatever I do nobody realises how exiting a situation is except me. ![]() Of course people should be able to switch any kind of "situation influenced music" off if they want to. But I for one think it would help in the immersion factor. Any thoughts on this? |

Might be a good idea for a mod you could create for yourself, and then release to the community to see if anybody else would want it - I haven't seen anybody do one like this yet, so you might find some takers. Good luck, and good hunting!

![]() Great idea about the mod. I think Im gonna replace some of the music with Das Boot equivalents, if it turns out any good I'll try and make a mod if people are interested. Does anybody know how I can turn on the music again while running the Grey Wolves mod? |

You have 2 options on this one.
A certain mod you are using turned off the music within the game menu. If so, this is an easy one to solve. Or, the mod has removed/replaced the files involved which you can find in the SilentHunterIII\data\Sound\Music folder. In this case you'll need to get the orginal files back.

Here is the problem with the music in SH3.... You can either turn off ALL music including the menu theme... or have all music on. In game while sailing you are forced to listen to it until you exit the game and turn it off. Listening to the music ALL THE TIME while sailing is very annoying and you will eventually get tired of hearing it. At the moment the only fix I suggest is to disable the GW mod in the JGSME Mod Enabler, copy the GW music file found at C:/Program Files/Ubisoft/SilentHunterIII/data/Sound/Music to your desktop incase you want to re-install it later. Then delete the music file inside the GW mod. Then re-enable the GW mod. This will restore the default SH3 music... and remove ALL GW music including the opening theme. |

I Used a Mod That Replaces the Stock Music With The Das Boot Music From the Beginning!
It's Called "Das Boot Theme Musicpack" and You can Get it From the Sounds Section of Terrapins Site! It includes Exiting Music From Das Boot, Including The "Convoy" Music file For Combat! Much Fun! |
