OT? Sound problem

Hope its the right forum to ask...i'm dying for some sleep...
After my OS bombed me,i needed to reinstall SH3 but i now have a big problem.
After various reinstall my engine and (Sea)waves sound still cover almost every other sound in the game.The voice of the crew in the conning tower it's even not udible.
It's a clean install and a clean OS too (But for some strange reason,i've had every type of possible issue to reinstall everything today)

My Audiocard is a SB live.
Before,with same OS and hardware configuration i've never had problem.Only change was a spare harddisk to reinstall the OS(used the old to back up my Data)

Can someone help me?
