This is a great litle program. It lest you view and replay the Volvo Ocean Race (toughes sailing race on earth). You can even choose camera positions, track the group, track a ship, on board cam.

Really a neat litle programm. It downloads the race data from the web and then computes how the virtual ships on your screen should behave.

It also had all the meteorological information you ever need !

The prgramm is call Virtual Spectator and is completely free, it also contains no adware whatsoever.

Virtual Spectator’s Volvo Ocean Race raceviewer will allow fans to follow the offshore legs of the race using the most consummate, all-round sailing application that anyone has ever seen.

New features and new graphics let spectators see the yacht racing like never before.

Observe the racing from the deck of Brasil 1, view the rest of the fleet from the top of the mast of The Black Pearl, or follow the movement of the fleet from the outer reaches of earth's atmosphere as the 6-hourly updates give you the latest positions of the race participants as they move around the globe.

Move backwards in time and view the historical moves of the competitors. Look ahead to the expected weather systems, and anticipate how each of the boats will react.

The minimum system requirements to run the race viewer are:
- Pentium III processor (or equivalent).
- Windows 98 with DirectX 9.0c installed.
- A DirectX 9 compatible graphics card with at least 64 Mb of RAM.
- 256 Mb of System RAM.
- A broadband internet connection (dial-up should work in most cases).

Note that the raceviewer covers the offshore legs only!
