I've noticed something, and it's probably just coincidence. I've been running RUB for quite a while, and I have been complaining that it's just too damn easy. I would go in, attack a convoy with barely a ping in most instances. I was always able to slip away, reload, and go around for a few more runs. This has netted me 3 Bogus class carriers during 3 seperate patrols. This was during mid-1942, when difficulty should be getting harder.
I just started a patrol in Sep '42, but this time I'm really getting hammered. The one change I noticed is that my previous convoy encounters were in extremley rough seas. This time, the sea is calm. Am I correct to assume destroyers are easier to deal with in rough and stormy waters? |

Surface weather is indeed a problem for destroyers; it interferes with their ASDIC equipment quite a bit, especially near surface. As long as you manage to keep out of sight (i.e., below the surface), you're as good as invisible to them near periscope depth :hmm:
