this is after a DD jumps us in Heavy fog

this where I am contemplating about taking more photos and admiring the curl of the smoke

this is were I go enough is enough the community can forget the photos!!

Notice how the fire and smoke is still with me,

this is the artwork left by the DD.
All crew survived.

I would imagine that when BdU asks you to take the boat out with the pure-magnesium hull, it would be best to politely decline.

very impressive pics

this fire seems to be burning the aa gun ammo but not is very dangerous for the sub because is out of the hull, only could be dangerous for the bridge crew, are you afortunate that all survived

could be worse if is inside the hull during a depth charge attack
like in the movie das boat.

RUB1.43 and SH3cmdr

I must say also that U-558 is the unluckiest boat I have had, the 1st patrol with it I had 3 of my front tubes destroyed so I had to return to base b4 I reached my patrol zone and then this fire in my 2nd patrol forced me to return home. SO in 2 patrols I have a grand total tonnage of approx. 10,000

That was really cool... Good thinking to get the pictures under pressure.
