Default How to reduce accuracy of armed merchant ships?

Hello,

Actually used mod: TWoS 2.2.9

Is there any method to reduce absurdally (in my opinion ) high accuracy of armed merchant ships? Now i am playing at first half of 1940 and i noticed that merchants have better accuracy than destroyers. For example i have met twice small coal freighter and this ship had no problems with hitting me 8/8 times from.... 4 kilometers. It is quite ridiculous, isn't it?

I can say more - i am more scared of those armed merchant ships than DDs, because i haven't met so far such eagle-eyed DDs.

For me this is huge immersion/realism breaker, so any help will be appreciated.

Hello Tomek 5 inch guns have an effective range of around 14km Liberty Ships had 4 inch guns. I'm not sure of their range but it not going to be much less. At only 4km way you would be an easy target and detectable so it not so ridiculous. Better to skirt around and attack at scope depth.

Never had that issue in 1940.

4 kilometers is very big distance to have a direct hit on such small target as U-boot, which is going 17 knots and doing maneuvers, i guess. You know merchants should have chance to hit me from couple kilometers distance, why not, but 100% hit ratio is kinda... strange? I have such situation 2 times, always with Coal Freighter 2900t and always its accuracy was too amazing for me. Always about 100% hit ratio - on large and close distances.

But is there a file where can i adjust gun's dispersion for merchants (especially eagle-eyed coal freighter)?

Are you broad side to the ship? You should always lower your profile and never stay on surface during clear sunny days!

Also it could be a Q ship!

No broadside shooting etc. These Coal Freighters are just hitting me time after time from far distances, when i am doing maneuvers and going with full speed.

I have done small test. I loaded old game-save and showed to DD which was 5 kilometers away. Most of his bullets totally missed until he shortened distance to about 2-3 kilometers. But not mighty Coal Frighter, when it sees me i am dead if i stay surfaced, no matter what distance is.

I write only about Coal Frighter because now i have problems only with them. Once i met armed tanker and its accuracy was below average.

Thats why i am asking how to change dispersion for armed merchants. No ship should have almost 100% hit ratio. It is just impossible.
