Thats sucks.

"10 years". To me that has not the sound of "evacuation" on it, but "removal forever". I mean, ten years is not ten weeks or ten days.

The costs involved are going to be enormous, why don't they just move the residents to a safe location and then blow it up?
Even if it flattens half the town its going to cost a lot less to rebuild it than it will to remove that ammo, bureaucracy at its finest.

I assume it doe snoit go down to well with the locals that you plan to blow up their home village and home region that maybe they knew since their childhood.

Sadly, this is the price they will have to pay for 'being prepared' even though they haven't been involved in a war since 1815.

I see that there's money to be made from any of the following scenarios that could develop at this town.

1) The residents stay put, the ammo dump blows up flattens the town and kills most of them, not good old boy not good, not much sympathy expressed in the country or even around the world as they were aware of the danger and knew the risks. But in the aftermath of this tragedy there's money to be made, lots of money.

2) The ammo dump blows up and destroys most of the town while the former residents are tucked up in a warm bed miles away from any harm, not good but at least they're alive, thousands of rubberneckers and weird people descend on the region, win, win for any businesses that survive.

3)^^ Look beyond the flattened town and see the business opportunities here, thousands of jobs created for the unemployed, International fame for the region, tourism through the roof, residents sell their stories to anyone who'll listen, TV chat shows, reality TV programmes, they could call it (Light the Fuse) or the (The Second Great Big Bang) entrepreneurs will see it my way while you types will be filling their pockets with your money.
