Hello. Recently I've been playing with TDW Generic Patcher, and finally patched my game. I've noticed there's an option for torpedo failures - I patched them as well and started the game. In game everything worked like intended. I went hunting ships. First, was a marchant ship. I aligned my position parpendicular to his course. Quickly found firing solution and fired two torpedoes. Both were a duds! Fired another two - first was a dud, second exploded prematurely mid way to the target. Some time later I found a convoy in convincing position so I took my chances. Hoped to sink two ships at least with six remaining torpedoes. Firing solution was perfect, range was 700 meters - poor chance to miss a ship. First torpedo gone missing, second was a dud, third hit the target as intended, fourth and fifth gone missing, sixth was a dud... After this I turned off the patches related to torpedoes failure chance. It seems the patches crank up the chance of failure to some ridiculous level. Is it working as intended?
I might as well messed something up in TDW Generic patcher. If there's any proper configuration for that section of TDW please let me know - I didn't found anything about it yet. Besides of the patcher I'm using only TDW's NewUi_7.4.2 and Real Navigation. Also it came through my mind, about Real Navigation - is there a way to increase how long navigator is showing me my position on the map? Right now it's only about 20 seconds, a little bit too short for me. Last qestion is about TDW's NewUI_7.4.2. I'm playing on monitor wich have ratio of 5:4. This causing small little problem with crew portraits bar near the botton of the screen - these portraits are covering my heading indicator. Not whole but like a 70% of it. Still I can get a reading from it but it's just annoying. Is there any way to move these portraits few centimeters to the right? |

Hello E
I would suggest that you try this mega mod and add on. The Wolves Of Steel Thread. (TWOS) (Posts 1 & 2 By vdr1981 The Wolves Of Steel > Adds The Missing Target Identify Icon Back > Wind & Smoke addon Mod It comes with its own gps file for the Generic File Patcher. Also add on mods for different screen resolutions. Peter

Enable it before TDW's NewUI. Edit: I see they are also included in the Generic patcher / MODS folder as the zip file " All the torpedoes modified for torpedoes failure patches (GenericPatcher add-on).7z " Quote:

Thank you for pointing that, Katze! It seems I overlooked that. Now I have whole patcher somewhere else, and I didn't placed the stuff from MODS folder of the patcher in the MODS folder in SH5 directory. This way, probably more things not working properly. I need to read instructions for TDW's patcher once again and more careful this time.
Berbster, I'm considering giving it a try, but I'm a bit worried about stability of the game. Also I want to familiarize myself more with modding in SH5 before using that big mod package. |
