Default Repair Problem

After my tube #1 was destroyed after a brawl gone bad I decided to head back to port.

After refitting the damage indeed seemed to be repaired. However, as I try to fire the tube, my crew still claims it is too badly damaged. It does not show up anymore in the damage control screen so great vexation is me.

Maybe a bug, or simply a mod that collided with the game files. My guess could be that you are too deep... (Probably not). Try re-fitting it then? Second try shoulden't do any bad.

Well it solved itself on the next patrol. Now also aces board seems to be not populating any score.

Mods are fun except for the unexpected behavior

Mods that are compatible with each other and in the correct order will not be so full of errors.

When posting an issue with the game if your running mods you should list them in the order they appear in JSGME

Open JSGME, click TASKS, click EXPORT ACTIVATED MODS LIST TO, then click CLIPBOARD.

From there post your message about your game issue and at the bottom RIGHT CLICK>click PASTE and your mod order from JSGME will paste into your message.

Knowing what mods your running and what order will get you much better advice from the seasoned skippers.

Do not forget to tell what version of the game you are running. Stock? 1.5, UBOAT ADD ON??

I would love to help, but there isn't enough information. Do what merc4ulfate suggested, then we can maybe find the cause. You do have some unusual problems.

Mods vary and I don't recall stock anymore, but refitting won't take care of destroyed items and with items not destroyed, some minor repairs at best. However, if there is a bug, it's just that refitting button seems to clear the destoyed damage screen when damage is still there. Just make mental notes when items get destroyed, nothing stinks more than setting up on a carrier thinking you have good tubes and getting the message tubes too damaged when you fire.

^ This was my thinking. Shouldn't it be called Rearming? An actual refit would be a lengthy job. Realistically, how much could be repaired in a couple days? Probably not that much, so this seems very reasonable to me. Serious damage usually meant terminating the patrol.

Realism observations aside, if the game acts as though it has repaired the damage by removing the red bar after "refitting", then the damage should indeed be repaired. Alternatively, if refitting does not, the red bar should remain there to reflect the fact that it is indeed still broken.

Refitting does imply making changes to the actual hardware in terms of adding of removing complete equipment systems. Ingame, this option is only presented at port between patrols yet it is lumped together with rearming whicle checking in to rearm. I agree that this only causes confusion.

A large part of my problem with mods is of my own doing; I tinker with them while still at sea or in the midst of a campaign. The game does not like that and errors result. For instance, when I added the "20mm Oerlikon Gun Sight Mod by Krishna" I ended up with a perpetually manned AA gun (even submerged).

I DID find that the "TMO Alt engine sounds" omitted the 20mm Oerlikon muzzle flash sound (fixed that) and that the "ISE New clouds+Waves" resulted in perpetual light fog (or worse). These mods do overwrite TMO files so it's probably a compatibility issue.

The first thing I noticed about your mod list is nothing should be in between these three:

05 TriggerMaru Overhaul_2-5
20 RSRDC_TMO_V502
25 RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1

Other mods can come after but nothing between those mods.

Improved Stock Environment v3 by Caustic and Traveller and Improved Stock Environment - TMO/RFB are two different mods but your mod list them both together and v3 is for RSRD and shouldn't be used with TMO. You must have renamed the folder or file or something there. They are not the same thing.

While finding the exact cause of your issue would be hard to track down having the mods in an incompatible order and version will definitely give you issues.

I would cease your current career and empty the JSGME and reorder and get correct versions of everything and start over. I think you'd see less errors.

My only other suggestion, if you can, is to not install programs on your system drive. Use your system drive for one thing, your operating system. I never install any program on the same hard drive where my operating system resides unless it is specifically coded to be used on the system drive.

In the "Improved Stock Environment_v3_TMO&RFB" mod description it says;

Quote:
This version of improved stock environment is designed to be used with RFB or TMO, and could possibly *most likely* work with other megamods such as OM and FOTRS. The mod simply changes the ocean and sky colors and adds some custom sounds that you will enjoy.
So according to the creator it should work with both TMO and/or RFB installed.

Nooo...not another restart

In any case, thanks for all the advice

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=3589

The version for TMO-RFB does say that but:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=3590

Version 3 does not.

Caustic even says in the thread that v3 is not for TMO

I do see the mistake now however. The mod is not listed in the download section as Improved Stock Environment_v3_TMO&RFB. that file by name does not exist in any mod but only exist after you have downloaded the file. The file NAME here at subsim downloads should be changed to call it Improved Stock Environment_v3_TMO&RFB because currently it is named Improved Stock Environment - TMO/RFB. There is no v3 in its name so I mistook this as an incorrect mod listed in your mods.

I also left out one mod that should be listed with TMO

TriggerMaru_Overhaul_2-5
***TMO_25_small_patch***
RSRDC_TMO_V502
RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1

Your first four should be like the above and I had forgetten to include the TMO 25 small patch

Generic Mod Enabler - v2.6.0.157
1_TriggerMaru_Overhaul_2-5
1_TMO_25_small_patch
RSRDC_TMO_V502
RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1
Convoy Routes TMO+RSRD
Original TMO AI Escorts (harder)
tambor198's TMO+RSRDC missions pack
Traveller Mod v2.01 for TMO
Traveller Mod v2.01 (TMO) Longer Sinking Times patch

merc4ulfate has given you good advice. I'll just add try that first. Mod soup, or mods installed in incorrect order is usually the cause of problems.
