Default The sexism in Chinese education

To be honest, in programs like Chemical Engineering and Computer Science, it really feels like there is a "no girls allowed" rule even though there isn't one.

Not too dissimilar to the western world of fifty-sixty years ago, heck in some instances even as recent as thirty years ago. China has the technology, but social evolution is still catching up. However, one potential derailing factor is the gender gap in the population which is going to absolutely plague China in the next generation as the men will outnumber the women by a great number since most Chinese families want a boy, and some will even go as far as to 'dispose' of girls.
Women may come to use this scarcity in order to demand greater freedoms and equalization, but time will tell.
