Default BDU orders

So I started a new career, playing "dead is dead".

After completing my shakedown cruise with U-56, we returned to port and my next patrol grid is AO96.

Since we returned to port in near Mid-August of 1939, I figured this would be an excellent opportunity to help the motherland with the forthcoming invasion of Poland, maybe even sinking some polish ships.

Unfortunately, my next cruise was set many days after the invasion and there are no suitable enemy targets available, since the date is now Sept 24.

Essentially I am left with no viable targets to help the war effort.

Thoughts on how I proceed?

Are you using SH3 Commander? It allows you to set Days In Base, so you can finish a cruise on August 15, set if for 10 Days, and come out on the 25th, giving you just enough time to get where you need to be in time for the war to start. After that you can reset it for Random and always be surprised.

Also it will let you set your own grid, among a host of other functions.

Yes I am using SH3 Commander.

With returning to port in early August I figured there was no way my next patrol date would be set nearly 30 days later, but that is indeed what happened.

Next time I won't used the random function if I am trying to achieve being part in the Poland campaign.

I also have used the manual setting for patrol grid, I just chose not to in this case.

Either way, the result was not what I anticpated.

I consulted my magic orb, affectionately called "Mission Editor", and it seems you are right. Polish traffic is alot less after 31st of august. There is some Polish traffic, but not much. Make sure you identify the flags, because you'll likely find other countries passing by.

That does sound right, Maurice.

Hello, fellow Michigander.

I had forgotten to take into account, that my hull was indeed damaged, certainly not because of running into a pier or something stupid like that.
