Default camera problem after installing mod

Hello, until now I was playing SH3 with GWX 3.0. I completed campaign and everything worked like a charm. I decided to higher the difficulty so I installed the HSIE hardcore fixes. Installed according to instructions, game is loading without problems and everything is working properly (well, I don't receive Bdu wolfpack orders when I report a convoy but I think I messed something up when copying these messages so I will take care of it). But there's one problem - when I submerge my external camera is starting to make this "flushing" effect but it doesn't stop. I end up with this washout view for infinity. It isn't a huge problem since I try not to use this view but sometimes I wouldlike to and this is very annoying. Here's a screen how it looks like:

Oh, and it's just external view. Internal views are ok.
I'll check in a moment if camera comes back to normal when I surface.
edit: Yes, it does.

It might be similar to the periscope view that gets unclear in H.sie's mod if you have too much speed. I don't have external views on and I'm on a patrol right now so I can't try this myself: does slowing down to under 4 knots clear the camera view?

I see. It might be that if you take the periscope fix out of H.sie's mod in Options selector you might solve this problem. Probably the blurring of the periscope in high speeds has been achieved by modifying camera views while submerged. Maybe H.sie can modify his mod - but I would think that if there was another way to solve this problem he would have already done that. I would just slow down a bit while submerged and wanting to have an outside peek.

Ok, I'll bump my thread (sorry for double post but I don't want to make another thread) because I can't get these new messages to work. I thought I can but obviously not I'm talking about append_to_en_menu file which I have to merge with en_menu in SH3 installation folder. I added these messages but in game nothing shows, just blank space. I don't know what I did wrong, if you could help me how to add these messages to en_menu I would be very thankful

Are you using the latest version of Stiebler's patch? I remember that he made the installation a little bit easier. Maybe that will help you in installing.

Also Wreford - Brown is planning to make SH3Commander do the dirty work on appending Stiebler's patch:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...08#post1927408

His work is not yet ready though...

In the mean time two simple solutions come to my mind:
1. did you to remember to make a new SH3.exe?
2. are you sure there are no ; signs in front of the lines you added?

If these don't work, maybe you just need to take Stiebler's addon totally off your computer and do all the installation steps all again from the beginning.

EDIT: oh yeah, it might be that you don't have Stiebler's addon - anyways what I wrote before the edit, is still valid...

I don't use any Stieblers patches at all, I installed sh3v16B1 version of HSIE fixes.

Yes, I made new exe and already running on it, the only thing that isn't working so far is these messages

Somewhere they are, somewhere not, maybe I'll quote a fragment of my file here

Quote:

edit: I think I know what is the problem. I'm doing everything right, but SH3 Commander is changing file everytime. Scumbag application How can configure it so it will leave en_menu alone when I start SH3?

edit: Ok, I fixed it. I didn't know I have to rollback Commander before making changes to files

So it was SH3Commander's rollback! Well, it's good that you figured it out. The file looks good to me and I hope everything works from now on
