How can I take Screenshots?
I want to take some screenshots in FS2004. I have no idea where to start.

For screenshooting in FS, you need a specialised FS-screenshooter. Else you end up with getting a shot of most of the screen, but where the instruments are you end up with black holes very often. Or other details lack, because the internal memory and the time the screenshot takes to get completed, do not work together well, the memory already is updated or deleted before the screenshot can grab all its content.
Try fsscreen. I use it in FS2004 and FSX, and it does not produce these artifacts. Of course it also works nicely in all other contexts, not just in FS. It is simple, and has no big interface at all. Launch it before you launch FS, or tab out of the sim and launch fsscreen then. Hitting "print" key creates a screenshot in the folder where you stored the unzipped fsscreen exe. Format is bmp. http://www.flightsimworld.com/downlo...file/1058.html

A demo version of FRAPS that I once tried on FS2004, did not work for me, but produced right the mentioned artifacts.
Also, FRAPS needs more memory and CPU time. In FS, you want to distract RAM and CPU as little as possible from it's major task: FS.

Always worked for me, but I never tried it in 2004. Live and learn.

Oh, it does work in general. But the problem I mentioned above is specific to FS. It was so in FS2002, in FS2004 and it still is so in FSX. Two other screengrabbers that I had over the years, also failed in FS. FSScreen was specifically designed for FS's problem, it is around since FS98 I think, and at least in the German-tongued community it has a rocksolid reputation. Plus it prodcues only a very small footprint in system ressources. It does not even get installed and anchored in the registry, I think.
