Of course it is possible that Facts will turn up sometime saying "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated." He may then point out that while this quote is commonly attributed to Samuel L. Clemens it was actually said by a primitive depth-recording device, connecting it directly to Subsim.com.

Facts are often confused with opinions and inferences.

As a general rule, I am initially suspicious of "facts" that either agree with my opinion or support one of my inferences.

You're absolutely right, and we see it all the time. I think that's why he included the "sister", Emphatic Assertion, also often mistaken for Fact.
