Wolfpack backup

After sighting a convoy in a type IX " I've been a very staunch type VII in the past", I sent a report to HQ to let them know.. As I begin to plot and mark my interception, another convey is sighted to my Nth Est, so I do the same thing.. Now instead of the Luftwaffe comming to my aid " " There is another Type IX & VII are sent instead.. The Convoys almost crossed paths, and we went to work....
Has that ever happen to anyone before?
I have no wolfpack mod only the GWX 3.0

In a word? No.

I've never seen a AI uboat attack a convoy, though I do understand it is possible. I've seen Luftwaffe attacks on shipping, but always against single ships not a convoy.

Good Hunting!!

I never actually witnessed the subs attacking, what happen was i was using the view that jumps from ship to ship in the convoy and it went to a type VII & IX.. while looking at the map, all these sunkin ship signs appeared on the map but they were grey, and there was no air support after the repeated attacks

The poster mentioned a "Wolfpack mod"?
I did a search in the download section and did not find this.
Is there such a mod for SH III? If so, is there a link?
It gets awful lonely out there.
I thought it wasn't possible-am I wrong?

Thanks

Give that link a try mate, I haven't tried it myself yet but it was passed on to me...
It would make such a difference to the game if wolfpacks could be formed, I would have to leave my job

Few weeks ago I think I got this situation when two convoys passed not far away from each other. It happened just south of Iceland. Hydrophone guy picked up several contacts with different reports. Some of merchants were closing, some of them were moving away, however all those contacts were comming from about the same bearing. The situation was confusing. First I thought perhaps the convoy is changing course ? But some time later I noticed the common convoy group noises are splitting up - one was heading east, while another dead south, both were moving away from me. I chose to follow the one that headed eastwards.

Mine was west of Gilbraltor in the area where convoy routes break turning either North or South West. It was very confusing & I thought also the convoy was changing course as thats happen more than once before attacking. I have to admit using the type IX can really wreck a convoy . I was always put off using it from the slow dive time..
