As stupid and unfortunate as this is, the rather bungling handling of this situation can't help but remind me of this comedy classic...

Looks like a lot of cargo will be washing ashore soon. If this were Rhode Island the scavengers would already be picking out their spot on the beach.

although i cant make speculations on how the ship was being skippered, i can say that the captain takes the blame 9/10 times

again, i cant say how the ship was being skippered, so i dont know if he was or wasnt operating recklessly.

Its stories like these that make me reflect on my career choice. going to be a mate, wanted to captain a boat someday. But once you're in command, your boat and everyone in it is in your hands. lots of responsibility, and rightly so.
