Default Still hunting for a Leander-Class CL

Last year a couple of modders here had expresed intentions to do a Leander-class CL. Unfortunately, none of those materialized.

I am hoping that someone knows if anyone outside the Subsim community has done a Leander or knows of anyone interested in doing one. It's one of the few highly active British ship classes still missing from the Med Fleet in SH3.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, Sabretwo! I'm doing HMS Ajax and HMS Exeter. Still it's a WIP project.
I'm very noob in Wings 3d but...
Soon I'll upload some pics.

Didos -> Arethusas -> mod. Leanders -> Leanders?

Hi coronas,

I am new to forum and I just registered because of your post (I am one of these "silent" ones, who usually just read and enjoy). I got immediately electrified

Some time ago, I started converting stock CL Dido into CL Bellona. That is largely complete and also a derivate, CL Arethusa, is almost ready. The latter might ultimately evolve into modified Leanders (Perth, Sydney, Hobart). Still, turrets are missing since stock ones are (incorrect and) ugly. I work on that.

I am a bit sick of my products because the surface part of the ships look neat but the submerged part are poor since deriving from the odd stock Dido model.

So, from which model you started? Have you thought of adding new turrets? Will they be 4-propeller ships?

I am just asking because I would like to avoid us to do work twice. And I am curious ...

Greetings -- frog

Wellcome The Frog:
I´m doing converssion from HMS Norfolk (Gerome73 is the original autor) and waiting for the needed permissions from autor for some type of public release.
Big supermods have all type of turrets in its gun.dat.
Also, I should like to see your works. The more, the merriest.

Hello! As Coronas, I dropped Gerome73 an email, asking for permission to use his material. If he's agreeing, fine. If not, well, then it might take a bit longer ...

@coronas:

So, you want to have the ship for play testing as soon as ready?

Thanks, The Frog!
I'm working very slow because my skills are very poor. I like to do a good model. BTW: I saw your work in UBI forum and is better than mine. If there are some news I'll put here.

...you could check Chineese U-47 Wolf Ocean Mod, it have many nice new ship and plane models, including turning fire control radar´s, moving crew on deck, new high quality textures, all work in progress !

iam not shure if he`s allowed to show his work outside chineese IP space, so this is an example what i found so far... (combined with new smoke and MEP)

...this screenshots are taken from a special mod compilation i work on (putting good things together with it, for example U-47`s Warship Mod & Living Silent Hunter), adding here and there something, at current private use only.

ps: there are 4 new CL`s, i included them as DD-type (7) vessels, so they are closing into a good torpedo fireing range (while you`re maybe enganging another BB) and are able to sink you in minutes if not carefull or without escorting cruisers (warship mod multiplay).

Those are the first attempt. I'm nothing satisfied, they need new bridges, a good UV map and proper skins.
They are modified from HMS Norfolk, an excellent work of Gerome73.

Stormfly:

I remember seeing something a while back about Chinese U-47 creating a Leander class. But he then disappeared. IIRC, I think I even emailed him about back then but didn't hear anything back.

It looks like Coronas and the Frog are making progress. I'll wait for their version.

BTW...Awesome smoke and wakes on those ships. Those came from Chinese U-47's mod? Do you have a download link?
