A Jacksonville mother charged with shaking her baby to death has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

Alexandra V. Tobias, 22, was arrested after the January death of 3-month-old Dylan Lee Edmondson. She told investigators she became angry because the baby was crying while she was playing a computer game called Farmville on the Facebook social-networking website.

A few crazies spread in a huge populace is sure signs of society as a whole failing, right.

A 22yo mother who mentally was still a child herself and, shook her dolly to death for disturbing her play time. Sad, very sad.

Expect to see more of it as, society becomes more desensitized.

She should be sterilized (since I guess they won't execute her, sadly).

And you know, people still really do not care about her farm.

On a side note, I deleted my facebook account months ago. Don't miss it at all. But now that I know all about it, here's what I'd do differently:
no games (all spyware) utter waste of time anyway.

No personal info.
I wouldn't "friend" everbody I know, only the people I actively communicate with.

That lady needs to be fixed though.

It's been repeatedly suggested to me by the powers that be that I should make a facebook account. So far I have resisted but if I am forced into it I will take your advice. Any other good tips?

The powers that be?? I assume you mean your employer.

Gawd I can imagine that they can track your every move if you post it.

Just avoid personal info and those silly status updates "Im going to the store to buy beer", "I'm going to the bathroom to unload those beers"

The less you put up there the better. Best is not to put it up at all as far as I am concerned.

I only found marginal use for FB. But some folks really like it for some reason. August, I'd be careful: FarmVille will vacuum your brains out even by just looking at it.

I'm living proof...

I find facebook handy, mostly because almost all my friends live at very long distnaces, and I've no family here or anything. So... it's a handy little tool. But there's plenty of ways to use it stupidly - let it go beyond just the friend-stalking tool it is, and it becomes utterly stupid...

Personally, i was never self important enough to think that anyone would care to read my crap, in a vast sea of crap that all looks, sounds, and smells the same. All of which residing in humanity's toilet bowl..... also known as the internet.

My 2 cents on facebook, weblogs, and other social networking sites in their various forms.

Eh, again, I don't think it's useful beyond actually keeping up with people you know in real life or professionally. The internet does indeed get stupid when it stops being an extension of your regular life and turns into a means for itself.
