Default The original subsim game

I guess you could call it the great-grandfather of SHV:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...y-Britain.html

I wonder how many patches it needed?

Unterseekriegspiel would translate as 'Under sea wargame' rather than 'Submarine wargame', wouldn't it?

Looks interesting. I wonder if there are any more serious wargames made at the time...

Yep.

Actually the title on the cover is
"Unsere U-Boote
Neuestes Unterseeboot Kriegsspiel"

Which translates into:
Our Submarines (or U-Boats if you want to)
Latest Submarine Wargame (U-Boot is the abbreviation for Unterseeboot).

I love the spin of the article that this game was somehow forming the hearts and mids of children.

It sounds like I'll be in serious trouble when I move over there in July.

Looks awesome! If some publisher made a copy, I'd buy it!

Actually 'under sea' and 'sub marine' mean exactly the same thing.

But you're right in that the writer probably didn't mean 'under sea', he meant the actual boat. The problem is that we English-speakers have been using the term 'submarine' to mean the boat seemingly forever, when it was likely that it was first called a 'submarine boat', or 'submarine ship'.

Some collector will snap that up very quickly at that price.

In my opinion, the best submarine game ever made.

You soooo could have turned that the other way around... "Submarine" means anyone less manly than a Marine...

... but you didn't think of that, which proves you're a Marine...
