Default The new multiplayer

It would be cool to have like a jump in jump out multiplayer, like World in Conflict, HAWX (both Ubisoft games) have, but then much much much bigger and I mean really big. U can choose what u want to commandeer: Surface ships (destroyers,Battleships,Carriers) Submarines or when ur rank is high enough try to get a promotion to Fleet Commander (or whatever) then u can start sending ur countrys ships around, when players complete such orders they get renown same as for killing enemies. The game starts and takes like 6 years (1939-1945). When u get killed, u lose renown and have to start over in ur port, with a delay maybe? But this idea can be greatly changed offcourse. THE MULTIPLAYER game of the year. Create servers that can have like 10.000 people on and create like 3 of em. (USA, Europe, Asia.) Then when u have an account registered at Ubisoft, u can start roaming around in the Multiplayer world. The costs for these servers can be easily retained, through all the sold coppies ( NavyField is a free to download naval sim it is played by many (includes me) but it doesnt look that great. If SH5 or maybe use this idea for SH6(???) would have that multiplayer in it, I think many people will buy it

Umm, what about Flight Simulator MP servers. Still a Sim, I think.

We're not talking about dwarves etc running around with oversized hammers here are we.

How do you implement time compression?

Who knows, if the devs scale the watch crew like they did in SH3, we'll end up with squeaky mickey mouse dwarves anyway.

You don't. Obviously, SH5 MMO is only for the hardcore jobless, OR rely on internet LAG.

Well World in Conflict was a Massive/Sierra project, wasn't aware of any Ubi involvement in it. HAWX, well I was too disappointed in the fact that I could start low and beat the game on hard before I had to return it to the rental store. Never tried mp in it but then again I try to stay away from mp after I quit BF2.

Simulators and multiplayer just don't go together well in my opinion. Time Compression would be a huge issue, especially with this game. Also, what can you really do that would be more enjoyable with other people out there? I guess if we could control the Destroyers, but this is a sub sim, not a target sim. Also, do you want to tool around thousands of miles of ocean, looking for the one other person on the server?

I tried multiplayer on Flight Simulator before. It wasn't that great. It was just like "hey... I can see your helicopter over there... uhh... what do you want to do now?"

Even co-op on the same boat could get boring. I mean... wouldn't everyone want to be the one on the scope, and firing torpedoes? I wouldn't want to just play as the weapons officer, entering TDC data and doing nothing else.

How would it be so hard to do?

You have a Silent Hunter world running 24/7 on a dedicated server where all the playable units are continually controlled by the AI, conducting attacks etc... Then when players wish to join they take the place of the AI.

For the record, it will never happen. No desire for it and too many running costs.

A SH5 MMO would make my purchasing decision much easier.
