Put a lid on it !!!

(AP) - In their zeal to protect their members from politically hazardous votes on issues such as gay marriage and gun control, Democrats running the House of Representatives are taking extraordinary steps to muzzle Republicans in this summer's debates on spending bills

So much for Bipartisanship and open debate.

I remember when the Republicans had a large majority in Congress, they were looking for ways to muzzle the Democrats

Quite true, but isnt this legislation 'life changing' changing the very fabric of our society.

A few questions should be raised.

This is nothing new. I may be a dem but I am well aware of the cowards in the party.

Its to the extent that I MAY end up voting 3rd party in 2010 especially with our resident turncoat democrat. I said MAY because I will only do it if the same type with the republicans can be found which mean pubs who are too scared of what the other side will do to vote for things like a new patriot act.

Or if the dems stand up and discuss hard issues like gays in the military.

Yup, all part of the game.

Each side, when in the minority, act suddenly surprised and shocked at the lack of bipartisanship.

Each side, when in the majority, suddenly forgets about it.

Bipartisanship seems to be defined as me letting you have my way.

Well since you appear to be a supporter of the Republican party, it may just be your perception.

It is human nature to remember fondly that which we support and remember more critically that which we don't. (one of the advantages of being an independent is that I can hate both sides equally. LoL)

Bipartisanship or a lack of bipartisanship is difficult to measure and is often a subjective perception.

Not any more my friend. I consider myself a fiscal conservative something the republican party left a long long time ago.
