That sounds like one badass soldier. I am pretty sure I would have been lying on the ground in the same situation.

That man's story is incredible! I cannot imagine the fortitude it must have taken to repeatedly stand in the line of enemy machine-gun fire. That he was not hit is a mircale almost worthy of Christ himself. He has my utmost admiration for his fearlessness and dedication to duty.

Yep, quite the guy. A salute to another warrior going home.

I was about to post a thread on this.

How can we ever repay him & his kind?

Not to forget the sacrifice he and many others made to ensure our freedom.

An interesting article that seems well timed.

Two small nits to pick until they bleed

1. Lose not loose

2. People don't "win" the VC. They are awarded the VC. Or they receive the VC. The VC is not a prize one "wins".

What I did not like about the article is that it did not mention what Mr. Kenna did after the war. I do think it is very cool that he married his nurse.

People like Mr. Kenna have a dedication that far surpasses what can be represented by a medal. We can never repay the debt we owe Mr. Kenna. Fortunately, I bet for him, there was no need to. His dedication and his reward come from within
