Default AI subs?

Hello everyone and thanx for a great mod!!!

I am two weeks into my first mission in career and I am wondering if there are any other german AI subs in career mode with the GWX mod? I have not seen anything and apparently all the radiomessages that notify convoi sightings are only there for immersion.. I wasted a good few days on that.
In short, will I ever see anyone else attack a convoi?

Outside of the occasional Luftwaffe aircraft attack, no. Wolfpacks will probably have to wait for the next incarnation of Silent Hunter....hopefully.

Oh..and welcome aboard!

I'm going to say "a qualified yes", because back when I had GWX 2.1 installed (pre computer crash) I remember being notified of a convoy on the approach to the Gibraltar straits. By the time I intercepted, the "AI Subs" were gone, but the convoy was in tatters, with seriously damaged and/or sinking ships all over the place and the excorts gone. All I had to do was clean up the remnants for as long as I could before a flight of Hurricanes arrived to mess-up my party! Some time later I got a contact which turned-out to be a severly damaged U-Boot sitting motionless on the surface, unfortunately the game doesn't allow for crew rescue to be done. I'm not far enough into GWX 3 yet, but I'm hoping against hope for a similar occurance later in this career!

Ive seen burning ships in mid atlantik convoys and my only guess is that AI subs attacked it (with deckguns).

Ive also seen friendly and enemy ai subs so i am sure they excist.

Yeah I remember coming across a few convoys and the ships in the distance were on fire . I attacked those closes to me and never was harrassed by a single escort. I assumed at the time the escorts were chansing other U-Boats. huummm?

I actually came across an IXB in the middle of the ocean. The weather was REALLY bad, like always when you're about to attack a convoy

I was scanning the sea with my perioscope and suddenly my auto identifier( Yes,I'm a pussy, I know) identified something in the distance as an IXB. I never actually got to see the sub itself (wich is weird considering I indentified it)

Later I saw a sinking freighter
