SH III freezes

Intel Q6850. EVGA 780i mobo. EVGA 88000GTX VGA. When I start SH III and then open it up, the game freezes.

Do you get a CTD or does the PC freeze completely?

Cut the contents of Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\Data\Movies to your desk top and then start the game. Sometimes, having the wrong codex will do this.

I bought a new PC DVD-Rom from Amazon.com. "Ubisoft exclusive Focus" ESS632/D. No mods. No patches. Seems to be a European version. Where can I buy US DVD version? Downloaded all the patches I could find and NONE of them worked.
